About the hosts

 

Gil Guerra is a graduate of Swarthmore College, where he received a BA with high honors in political science with a minor in philosophy. His previous experience includes roles as a Hudson Institute Political Studies Fellow, a Political Studies Program Fellow with the Hertog Foundation, and a participant in the American Enterprise Institute’s Summer Honors Program in Democratic Capitalism. Gil was also formerly an intern with the Junction in Northern Ireland, where he worked on projects related to civil society and reconciliation. Gil currently works in Washington, DC. His family is from Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Luis Parrales graduated magna cum laude from the University of Richmond with a BA in political science and a minor in English. As an undergraduate, Luis participated in programs organized by the American Enterprise Institute, the Heritage Foundation and the Witherspoon Institute, which fostered his interest in politics and conservatism. He also advocated for improved regional public transportation through a start-up nonprofit, RVA Rapid Transit, and volunteered as a mentor for elementary school children through the YouthLife Foundation of Richmond. An immigrant from Mexico City, Mexico, Luis works and lives in Washington, DC.
